Melissa Zhang has called Richmond home for over 20 years with her husband and daughter. Her son was born at Richmond Hospital. She holds a master’s degree and has worked as an independent financial advisor for 18 years.

A dedicated community advocate and volunteer, Melissa was nominated for the “Star of Richmond” award in 2019 and 2021. She serves as a board director with Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives, the Richmond Sister City Advisory Committee, and the Steveston Historical Society.

Melissa has been a Lions Club member for 11 years, serving twice as Zone Chairperson and as Charter President of the Vancouver Fraser Lions Club. She is a Diamond Melvin Jones Fellow of the Lions Clubs International Foundation and she received the Judge Brian Stevenson Award from Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
