Michael Davis is running in Vancouver-Point Grey because he believes government should manage the province’s finances responsibly and create the conditions for economic growth—so we can deliver strong healthcare, care for seniors and kids, and safe streets for all.

Michael recently retired as principal of a Vancouver communications and government relations firm. He served as Director of Communications for Canada’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General and has a long record as a community social impact leader. In 2021, his focus on climate action led him to launch Governance for Our Kids Climate.

He has volunteered on non-profit boards since 1996, holding roles from president to finance and governance chair to contracted executive director, and has delivered governance training for boards since 1999—first with Volunteer Vancouver, then as a consultant and knowledge philanthropist for VantagePoint.

He has worked and volunteered across sectors: a maritime museum, a social service agency, a pan-provincial social services umbrella, a political party, a seniors housing association, a DTES harm reduction society, and a refugee resettlement charity, and researched BC’s low-carbon energy transition at Royal Roads University.

Early in his career, Michael worked on tow-boats, drove taxi and a city bus, and shuttled rental planes—he holds a commercial pilot’s license.

An avid campaigner, Michael has worked at all three levels of government: constituency and nomination campaign manager federally, drafter of CentreBC’s bylaws, and manager of a City Council re-election and two mayoral campaigns municipally.

He currently volunteers as founder of OurKidsClimate.ca and as a Circle member at Rainbow Refugee.

Michael holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University.

He lives in Kitsilano with his partner and spends free time exploring BC’s back roads—and beyond—on an adventure motorcycle.
