Biography

submitted to City of North Vancouver's elections office by the candidate

My name is Lailani Tumaneng, and I am running for the position of Councilor to bring empowered representation and a collaborative voice to our community. North Vancouver has been my home for 32 years, and with my 26 years of experience as a Registered Nurse for Vancouver Coastal Health, I have dedicated my career to caring for others and advocating for the well-being of our community. As a Steward with BCNU and an Interim Chair for the Coastal Mountain Region, I have honed my leadership skills and developed a profound understanding of the importance of listening to diverse perspectives. I volunteered at CNV and APC committee at CNV.

In October 2022, I was elected as one of the School Trustees for the City Of North Vancouver, and this taught me critical leadership skills, collaborative, diplomacy, boundary management, and collective decision making.

If elected my primary goals If elected, my primary goals will focus on advocating for community safety, addressing the challenges of climate change, promoting sustainability, affordable housing & equitable governance, ensuring our decisions mirror the diverse fabric of our community.

I am proud to stand for transparency, accountability, fiscal responsibility and service.

Because WE ARE NORTH VANCOUVER!
