Biography
I have called Abbotsford my home for over 15 years. I was drawn to the community through my time spent working and pursuing education here. I attended the University of the Fraser Valley where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and a Diploma in Architectural Drafting. Following university, I have worked in Abbotsford as a software developer helping businesses use technology to identify and solve their problems.
Outside of my professional work, I have continued to enjoy investing my time in the people and community around me. I have served as a youth mentor through Archway Community Services, and am the moderator on my church's leadership team. I'm also an avid rock climber and love to get outside and spend time at locals crags.
Reason for running
I strongly believe that our city council functions best when it can draw form a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences. Currently our council lacks anyone with a strong background in technology and I hope to bring that perspective and experience to the table.
Increasingly, council is faced with decisions that require technological literacy. If elected, I will use my professional experience to provide informed decision-making across critical modern challenges including:
- AI Policy: To ensure our municipal operations remain secure, ethical, and transparent.
- Software Procurement: To accelerate permitting and streamline essential city processes.
- Data Center Proposals: To carefully balance economic opportunities against the long-term strain on our city's power, water, and resources.
