My approach is grounded in listening to residents, understanding their everyday concerns, and focusing on prevention before challenges become crises. Through my professional work with individuals, couples, children, and families, I have seen how affordability, mental health, social isolation, family stress, and limited opportunities for youth can affect the well-being of an entire community.
I believe local government works best when it listens to different perspectives, collaborates with community organizations and residents, and focuses on practical solutions. My priorities include supporting strong families, creating opportunities for youth, promoting community well-being and safety, encouraging responsible growth, and ensuring that people from different backgrounds feel heard and included.
If elected, I would bring a prevention-focused and collaborative perspective to Council. I would listen carefully, ask questions, consider evidence and community needs, and work with others toward practical and responsible decisions for Chilliwack’s future.
Biography
For many years, my work has been about listening to people for well-being improvement , I have worked with children and youth, seniors, couples, families, and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community from many different backgrounds.
I have listened to parents worried about their children, people experiencing stress and isolation, seniors facing changes in their lives, and individuals trying to recover from trauma and difficult circumstances. I have also seen the strength people can find when they feel heard, supported, and connected to their community.
That experience is a big part of why I decided to run for Chilliwack City Council. I want to bring what I have learned from listening to people into public service not their private stories, but a deeper understanding of the everyday challenges that families and individuals can face.
I believe we can do more to address problems early, strengthen families, create opportunities for young people, support seniors, and help people stay connected before difficulties become crises.
The values that guide me are simple: listening, caring, respect, inclusion, prevention, collaboration, and practical action. I believe people may have different backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives, but everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and to have an opportunity to be heard.
