Biography
Born in New Zealand and raised in Quesnel, B.C., Nancy McCurrach has lived in Port Coquitlam with her husband, Ray, since 1992. Their four children, grandchildren and goldendoodle are an important part of their lives.
First elected to Port Coquitlam City Council in 2018, Nancy is serving her second term. She has championed initiatives supporting seniors, gender equity, the environment and vulnerable residents, including free menstrual products in civic facilities. Her national resolution on period poverty helped advance federal action on this important issue.
Nancy brings 31 years of telecommunications experience and is a recipient of the prestigious TELUS Legend Award. Her community service has also earned her the USW International Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service, Port Coquitlam’s Volunteer of the Year Award, the Labour Community Service Award and the 2026 Frances Wagner Woman of Achievement Award.
An active Soroptimist, Nancy supports vulnerable women, girls and families through programs including Warm Place for Women. A multiple cornea-transplant recipient and second-degree black belt in karate, she also advocates for organ and tissue donation.
Nancy is proud to be a visible, accessible and dedicated voice for the people of Port Coquitlam.
