Beau Simpson is a Cloverdale father of two, eight-year baseball coach and award-winning former Surrey Now-Leader editor who spent 15 years holding City Hall accountable.

Beau Simpson is a Cloverdale father of two, eight-year baseball coach and award-winning former Surrey Now-Leader editor who spent 15 years holding City Hall accountable. Clayton Heights and Cloverdale are among the fastest-growing neighbourhoods in Surrey and still have no year-round pool, so families drive out of the neighbourhood for swimming lessons. Newton's pool was under construction, due to open in 2025, until City Hall cancelled it, and now, four years in, it is still not built. A Safe Surrey Coalition council will build swimming pools for Clayton Heights and Cloverdale.
