Dean McGee is a past president of Surrey DPAC, longtime education advocate and parent of children who attended Surrey public schools. His connection to Surrey education spans generations: Dean attended elementary school in Surrey, and his parents served Surrey as a teacher/principal (50 years) and Surrey civic employee (30 years).

Dean represents Surrey DPAC on a provincial facilities committee focused on education spaces and co-authored Why Isn’t My City Building More Schools?, helping to explain the challenges of planning and funding schools in growing communities. He also served on Surrey DPAC's Inclusion Committee and has advocated directly with MLAs at the Legislature for greater investment in public education.

Dean is running with Our Surrey to bring experienced parent leadership and a strong understanding of school infrastructure to the Board. As trustee, he will advocate for inclusive, well-resourced schools and the spaces Surrey's growing student population needs to thrive.
